Discovered Steampunk Artist : Diarment from Barcelona

I see a lot of steampunk Artist . Recently i stumbled on one that i have first met on DeviantArt .
I often look on ETSY to see what new steampunk stuff comes out and i was very happy to come across what i had previously seen on DeviantArt . So i purchase one of the clock . What i especially like is the aestestic that make this functional piece of art look like it is powered by some ancient mysterious technology .

Tell us a bit about yourself name, location, affiliations, personal stuff?
My name is Rafa Maya, I'm known as diarment on ETSY and DeviantArt. I am a multidisciplinary artist, based in Barcelona (Spain).

My artistic career began with drawing and painting, activities that i will not give up; but my ideas and projects will be expanded soon by computers, music, photography, modeling techniques and all that is close at hands .

Please describe your creative process how, when, materials, etc ?
First, I am influenced by things I see and feel: movies, pictures, events, etc.. the idea is taking root in my mind, once I vocetos, then gather parts, recycle , model with putty and cardboard, then it all comes together and add the magic of painting, the work comes to an end.

How did you first become interested in the Steampunk Culture and - Why do you like it ?
I've always been fascinated by the making of machinery, especially those that seems somewhat useless or actually fantastic and impossible , it is one of the qualities that I find interesting to Steampunk world, along with the imaginative freedom from ancient technologies , and try to translate those impressions in my works, some on canvas, sculpture, cardboard and scissors, and others with computers .

What is your favourite piece of work by yourself ?
The favorite piece is always the last in which I work.

Also accept orders for a living, portrait, cartoons and design in general.

Name one of your favorite steampunk artist ?
I could name many artists (most of them are on deviantart) but I will appoint one, which is not anything long, his name is Oscar Chichoni, an illustrator with qualities very steampunk.

What are your goal , project , plans for the future ?
My plans for today, tomorrow could change at any time and are uncertain.

What advice would you give new artists?
I'm not locked in a very defined aesthetic, a style such as Steampunk has to offer a wide range of possibilities .

Thank you very much and see you soon.

Sapphire jewelry to match your mood

No, this isn’t crazy. You can actually have your jewelry speak your mind. Check out how my jewelry expresses my moods.

When I am cheerful I prefer dangling earrings in dark blue sapphire with diamond accents or white sapphires. The pretty earrings brighten up my fac

e and bring more radiance to my smile. I wear light makeup to let the earrings be the focus.

Blue Sapphire Earrings copy

For a sophisticated look I prefer sapphires and white diamonds. I think nothing matches luxury better. Days when I feel like not dressing up at all sapphire studs do justice to my subtly elegant look.

So don’t just wear jewelry to match your dress, try and match your jewelry to your mood also. You’ll see the magic it does to your overall look.

Onyx is a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx available contain bands of colors of white, tan, and brown. Sardonyx is a variant in which the colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black. Pure black onyx is common, and perhaps the most famous variety, but not as common as onyx with banded colors.

It has a long history of use for hardstone carving and jewelry, where it is usually cut as a cabochon, or into beads, and is also used for intaglio or cameo engraved gems, where the bands make the image contrast with the ground. Some onyx is natural but much is produced by the staining of agate.

The name has sometimes been used, incorrectly, to label other banded lapidary materials, such as banded calcite found in Mexico, Pakistan, and other places, and often carved, polished and sold. This material is much softer than true onyx, and much more readily available. The majority of carved items sold as 'onyx' today are this carbonate material.

Affordable Rings At Angara

Rings at Angara

Planning the proposal is not enough. Have you realized you need an engagement ring to accompany your proposal. Looking for the ring may not be as difficult as it seems. With increasing jewelry stores and online jewelry retailers, finding the right ring is no big task. Especially with colored gemstones making their presence felt in the jewelry industry more than ever before, it would be a lovely idea to get her a ring in one of these vivid colors. If you haven't already decided on particular gemstone I would suggest rubies to you.

The rich red color of ruby is ideal for an engagement ring especially on Valentine's day. Rubies symbolize love, passion and ardor. It is an ideal choice for an engagement ring. Especially since you plan to give it to your lady love on a day that celebrates matters of the heart. You will find a fine selection of some of the best engagement rings at Angara.com, that too at prices which won't make a dent in your pockets.

Steampunk Jewelry with Pyrite

Pyrite is a very interesting new material for my steampunk design . I found a dark khaki pyrite which match perfectly with the gunmetal color of the ring .

Here's some picture of the new
steampunk jewelry with PYRITE :

The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, is an iron sulfide with the formula FeS2. This mineral's metallic luster and pale-to-normal, brass-yellow hue have earned it the nickname fool's gold due to its resemblance to gold. Pyrite is the most common of the sulfide minerals. The name pyrite is derived from the Greek πυρίτης (puritēs), “of fire” or "in fire”, from πύρ (pur), “fire”. This name is likely due to the sparks that result when pyrite is struck against steel or flint. This property made pyrite popular for use in early firearms such as the wheellock.

Pyrite is usually found associated with other sulfides or oxides in quartz veins, sedimentary rock, and metamorphic rock, as well as in coal beds, and as a replacement mineral in fossils. Despite being nicknamed fool's gold, small quantities of gold are sometimes found associated with pyrite. Gold and arsenic occur as a coupled substitution in the pyrite structure. In the Carlin, Nevada gold deposit, arsenian pyrite contains up to 0.37 wt% gold. Auriferous pyrite is a valuable ore of gold.

Jewelry To Suit Your Taste

Emerald Pendant Don't we all like to wear what suits our taste and preference. Whether clothes or jewelry, it must be in sync to our personal style and liking. Each time you sport something you don't really find agreeable, you are visibly uncomfortable. So why not don something that will make you look and feel at ease, apart from adding to your style quotient.

This is true as much in clothes as in jewelry. If you prefer jewelry that is subtle you will definitely not feel at ease wearing an elaborate piece. It would be wise to stick to smaller and more basic piece. You can choose studs and solitaires in diamonds or colored gemstones of your choice. It would not be a bad idea to experiment with a combination of the two as long as its not jazzy and suits your style.

On the other hand for those of you who love ornate jewelry, something large and lavish would work best. Multi-stone and multi-colored jewelry would compliment your fancy persona. Colored gemstones will for sure add color while diamonds will help with their dazzle. You can even go for yellow gold jewelry that is chunky and conspicuous.

DO IT THE OSCAR STYLE!!!!

clip_image028Let’s have a look at this year’s Oscar trends. Statement pieces were the key trends at Oscar red carpet this year .Only a few went overboard and wore heavy jewelry. Most of them opted for statement pieces like wristclip_image002 cuffs, necklaces, rings etc. to look glamorous without being overdone.

Silver seemed to be the front runner this year. It took over gold completely. Most of the Celebs opted for it allowing most of you to go for a nice look by paying a fraction of the price.

clip_image006The message at this year’s Oscar was very clear. Keep it simple and classy. It will make you look graceful. Wear either a bracelet or a necklace but don’t wear them together. Don’t overdo anything. Being classy is the new mantra. From Kate Winslett to Taraji P Henson all kept it simple. Winslettclip_image004 went for elegant bracelets with diamond rings while Taraji went for a stunning diamond cuff style necklace. Freida Pinto’s diamond drop earrings were vintage pieces from her native India. Gone are the days when celebrities only focused on the clothes they wore at the Oscars. Jewelry has clip_image008become the new center of attraction. One celebrity who created rage as always is Angelina Jolie . What she wore was a simple strapless black gown but the jewelry is what got all the attention. She appeared without any necklace or bracelets. She chose to wear large vibrant emerald drops complementing it with a matching emerald ring, looking absolutely marvelous and stunning. clip_image018

clip_image012

A few celebrities went wrong too. For instance take Heidi Klum. She wore multiple bracelets with large earrings, completely overdoing it, which is a complete no no!!!! Among the male celebrities no bracelets were noticed. Except Mickey Rourke and a few others no male celebritiy wore any jewellery other than the usual cuff links. Pitt showed off some fancy metallic buttons on his shirt. Rourke flaunted a pendant around his neck bearing a photo of hisclip_image014 deceased pet Loki the Chihuahua. A few others wore a simple silver brooch on their tuxedo lapels.

It’s clear from the Oscar this year that jewellery is the center of attraction now. So those who are going for the Oscar style should remember simplicity is the style statement. Don’t overdo it.
